The teams of students from all around the world are welcome to compete in 5x5 mode in the most popular MOBA games — Dota 2 and League of Legends.
Best teams will become a part of a special event in Moscow and play in the Grand Final.

The tournament organizer is Ministry of Education and Science.

FAQ

  • How to register for the tournament?
    • To join the Battle you need to register on this website and then register your team for the competition. Make sure to provide all the necessary data. It is the captain who registers the team so this person should be in touch. Registration begins on December, 1.
  • Who can join the tournament?
    • Only students can join the «Battle for Science» tournament. All team members should also be students of the same school (univercity, academy, etc).
  • How to contact the event team?
    • Make sure that your team’s captain joins it before the qualifiers to be in touch with our event team and judges:
      • Dota 2 server
      • League of Legends server
  • What is the tournament structure?
    • The first stage of the Battle are 2 Single Elimination (bo1) qualifiers.
      4 top teams of each qualifier (8 teams total) will enter the second stage. They will compete in play-off Double Elimination (bo3) games.
      2 best teams enter the Moscow Grand Final.
      This structure is the same for both Dota 2 and League of Legends tournaments.
  • How to verify your personality?
    • Only teams of students are allowed to enter the Battle so the tournament participants must be ready to verify themselves. In order to do this they need to have a well-working webcam on any device and a student ID card or their personal student’s account on the college website. Tournament judges will provide the teams with more information on verification procedure in Discord.
  • Who pays for the travel for the Moscow Grand Final?
    • If the members of the team are not from Moscow they will be provided with full level of travel support from the event team. Travel support covers booking, travel tickets and food.
  • What are the tournament regulations?

The Year of Science

Russian science is developing rapidly. In the last few months alone, scientists have launched the world's most powerful neutron reactor, sent dozens of sea expeditions and developed several COVID-19 vaccines that proved to be effective and accepted internationally.

One of the goals of the Year is to tell more about the scientists and achievements that our country should be proud of. During this year with the support from the state multiple educational events would be held involving leading scientists. You would also see various educational platforms and contests launched for public.
